Welcome to Spiegel and Peach!

We’re a Bristol based importer and wholesaler, founded by ex-wine buyer and wine trade lifer Maddie and her husband Pete in 2020 (yes, right in the middle of the pandemic... we had also just had our second baby. Go big or go home, right??).

Having run a small neighbourhood cafe for a few years with a small wine selection, we found it frustrating to try and buy from the large national companies - the lower priced wines that we needed always seemed to be an afterthought on their lists, the the minimum order quantities were often prohibitively large. 

We felt like there was a gap for a company to flexibly serve the Bristol independent trade, with unique wines that weren't simply excerpts from the lists of the big nationals, and with a real focus on that upper entry to upper mid price range. In fact most of our list sits in this range - there's plenty of choice. 

Throughout Maddie's career in the trade she has always had a passion for new discoveries - not just finding the best option within an already well established region, but new regions, new grapes, small family wineries not yet in the UK, and great value price points (finding great wine at expensive price points is easy - so this is the challenging/fun bit!). This means our lists read a little differently than most - but we make sure to keep things accessible in style always.
